Weekend Treat: French Toast

My typical breakfast has become fage yogurt with cereal and honey,or sometimes Barley green, but every once in a while I stray from the path like a naughty little lamb in search of a delectable delight of this flavor:



Mouthwatering? MMhhmm. This French Toast was on our Father's Day brunch menu at my parent's house and I've thought about it several weekends since...it's tasty, simple, and especially delicious because the bread soaks in all that yummy without getting too soggy. I like it better than the typical French Toast, and am hoping it will be on our breakfast menu for this Sunday...just because. 


So here's Ellen and Ed's recipe for their delish French Toast:


Ingredients:
1 stick of butter
4 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbs sugar
1 loaf ciabatta bread sliced


Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, and sugar in a bowl. Heat 1/2 stick of butter on medium heat in a large skillet.


Once butter is is melted, submerge each slice of bread in bowl containing eggs, milk, and vanilla before placing in the skillet and cooking until golden brown on each side.


Dust finished pieces with powder sugar and add any combination of bananas, blueberries, pecans, nutella, and warm syrup...or just about whatever you so desire! Hope you enjoy as much as Miss. Cleo does...
