Surprise Wedding revisited a month later...

So it's been a month...going strong! After a little bit of wine the other night I asked Johnny if he would mind if I just put my whole outfit back on...he looked a little frightened so I opted instead for another round through the pictures. Here are some of the things that made me happy:

In addition to all of these fun people who came in town:

The invitation, which was for an "engagement party":

They are the front doors of Johnny's house, where we got married. Literally, in front of the doors. So they sort of served as a subtle hint to what we were doing...

The "program":
Which was a watercolor by my Grandfather of a blooming tree in soft pinks and whites. My mom had originally thought a tree would be good because of family trees, whereas I was originally going the route of a cross. Flipping through books for ideas we found this tree and it seemed to fit perfectly and tie in to our flower scheme with lots of blooming branches.
On the back, we wrote a letter to our guests explaining that they were actually there "for our wedding!" and thanked them for everything.
Peony bouquet

Grandmother/Great Grandmother's Locket

The front doors and chairs setup before guests arrived

Watching everyone filter in and figure it out....
Almost time to go...hiding inside

these hands...
and this smile...
and this kiss...

and a few of the front row s'mores...
and this relief! It all worked!

And the night turned out to be a beautiful, and wonderful, joyous occasion with all of our favorite people. Feel like we had our cake and ate it too...buttercream is delicious.

I'll post the cocktail recipe we had that night because it was delish too. A lemon rosemary vodka fizz...would be nice for summer fun days...

When you get back from your fab honeymoon, you are doing a post for me! I love everything, and I think you should wear your dress ALL the time, too beautiful!
